the wiring came off the old remote so it was useless. fans these days have no pull cords so without the remote, the fan/light is useless. this is the answer, replacement remote.

This remote is a replacement for the original remote we had. The original remote is no longer made and this is the new different one in it's place. It is working perfectly.

Worked well once I figured out that you have to literally change the dip-switch settings inside the remote. Remote Replacements should simply place a little instructions with this product alerting the customer that these settings may require changing. It will lead to less frustrations by the consumer.

My remote is for a fan/light combo. It hangs from a vaulted ceiling, so any work to the unit on the ceiling would have required a service call by an electrician. Now all the speeds and the light work just fine.
