In short, only one button on the remote worked -- the menu button -- but once in the menu, the arrows didn't work. I'm throwing the remote away and donating the TV to charity. Your serviceman was great but he can't fix something that won't work.

I have had my TV for years. It also doubles as my computer monitor. The kids destroyed the remote in my recliner! Wasn't sure what I was going to do. Can't easily switch from TV to computer without it.

I needed this remote only for the purpose of turning my TV on and tuning it appropriately so that I could then have the TV interface with my cable box. Thus I only needed to use it once. It sounds silly, but the buttons on the TV simply did not get me to the correct place where the TV could interface with the HD box from the cable company. But even though I only needed it that one time, I had to buy the remote Thus, I'm glad it was inexpensive, and I'm glad it came so quickly.

The fault with the remote is by design. The remote needs lighted buttons. The remote should also be able to access a help menu that should be stored in the Westinghouse TV or open a URL to the help file. There should also be an option that allows the TV to display the pressed button - as if the button on the remote was a button on a tablet and the television screen was the text entry area of the tablet, e.g., iPad.
