I purchased an $800 display model sound bar, which was being sold for $257 because it had a small scratch and didn't have a remote. The clerk indicated that I would not be able to find the remote if I purchased the speaker. I actually ordered the remote prior to purchasing the sound bar. When I got home, I quickly came to find out that some of the advanced features, such as being able to connect wirelessly, couldn't be accomplished without the remote. Once I got it, I was able to do was able to sync things up within minutes.
