Perfect replacement... Excellent product... Fixed the fan

I purchased this receiver and was assured that it was the same as the existing 7058YN-03 receiver. First off, I discovered when it arrived that the 9-pin connector did not match the AMP 9-pin on the existing receiver, so I had to order and wait to receive a AMP to MOLEX adapter connector that I could find nowhere else. Next, when I replaced the receiver and re-powered it, the receiver would not respond to the remote unless I held the remote within about 2 ft. of the fan. The fan is mounted on a sloped ceiling and is 10 ft. above the floor! The reason I bought the receiver in the first place was that I guessed that the cyclic hum from the fan was due to a bad capacitor on the circuit board but the hum was the same with the replacement. I put the old receiver back in the fan and am now stuck with over $60 worth of unusable stuff. I'd give it one star but I feel at least partly responsible for an incorrect diagnosis. The hum is likely from the motor windings so next step will be to replace the fan itself.

It was not compatible with my fan, though I have the Windward II ceiling fan.

I bought this for my Hampton Bay Brookedale 60 inch (model ac-418). My fan was stuck on what seemed slower than the lowest setting. The other speeds did not work with the remote. I replaced this part and paired the remote and it works perfectly now. I had to bring the whole fan down to install it though.

The only problem is that the light does not turn on, the blue and gray cables were not connected in the plug

The receiver was very easy to install, basically plug and play. The only head stracther is why it won't work with my current remote to turn the light up. There is a disclaimer upon purchasing about that.
